Refund Policy

We want every customer to feel good about the work we deliver. This policy explains when refunds apply, what's excluded, and how to request one.
Unused hours
Hours on your balance that have not yet been consumed are fully refundable within 30 days of purchase via written request to mike@refinedelement.com. Partially-consumed packages are prorated — we refund the unused portion at the per-hour rate of the package you purchased.
Approved artifacts
Once you click Approve on an artifact in the dashboard, that artifact is considered accepted: acceptance signals that the code met the spec and you are taking delivery. Approved artifacts are non-refundable. If something surfaces later, we are happy to discuss a revision at hourly rates or under the warranty terms of the applicable package.
Non-delivery
If you submit a project spec through the dashboard and we fail to deliver an initial artifact within 10 business days of your submission, you are entitled to a full refund of the package tied to that spec. Custom projects with an agreed longer timeline are covered by the timeline stated in writing at scope confirmation.
Stripe disputes and chargebacks
If something is wrong with a purchase, please email mike@refinedelement.com first — most issues resolve faster through direct support than through a Stripe dispute. Filing a chargeback before contacting us may delay resolution while we respond to Stripe.
Process
- Email mike@refinedelement.com from the address associated with your account.
- Include your Stripe session id (starts with
cs_, visible on your purchase confirmation email) or the email + approximate purchase date. - Briefly describe the reason for the refund.
We review refund requests within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Stripe's own processing time may add up to a few additional business days before the credit appears on your statement.
L402 Lightning sessions
Lightning session payments settle instantly on the Bitcoin Lightning Network and are non-reversible by nature. If a Lightning-paid session fails to start or returns an error, contact mike@refinedelement.com with the macaroon and timestamp and we will issue a Lightning refund to a Lightning address you provide.
